One of my favorite parts about rural is the love for the community and the joy people have living here. It is so motivating being able to work and live in a place where people embrace their home and appreciate the resources and beauty that are here.
Although I have only lived in the area for a short time, it’s already my favorite place to live! I feel like I belong, and that I’ve always been a part of this community.
I’m close to hiking and biking trails. I also love to swim, and there are so many places nearby to be able to do that! I’m adjusting really well to the pace of day-to-day life here. It’s low-key and connected, and I can easily find time for my favorite activities: tennis, participating in church choir, and stargazing. The night sky here is so dark!
My work, on the other hand, is bright and makes me feel lighthearted. I love being able to know that the work I do every day can ensure that staff are able to do their best and have the resources needed to do so. I’ve always had a passion for the hiring and onboarding processes that help ensure new staff are set up for success in their new roles. I use that passion, and skills I learned while earning my bachelor’s degree in business and marketing education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, to help guide people new to our staff through the paperwork and processes, and be their main point of contact when they have questions. I also update files and evaluate and recommend improvements to our processes.
